September competition:
Since you guys are putting the time and effort in, I'm going to try and make this happen this month. In our next issue (December 2005) I'm going to make the Custom Works Colum feature the bodies in these paint contest. I might not be able to feature them all, but I want to try and get them in there as inspriration.

Now I can't promise this as 100% yet, because I do have a planned article, but I think it would be cool to show our readers of the print magazine your hard work on line."RC411 Paint Competition!"
Quote for page 25 of spet issue:
"Think that you can paint? Most of us can barely get two colors to match, but some of you can throw down a paint scheme that could be right at home on a church ceiling. So we want to see if you have got what it takes by entering our new monthly painting contest on our website. Check out the forums and hit up the painting section for guidelines and rules. The winner will be featured here [the mag] and win a free 6 month subscription of XRC!"
Quote from Derek:
"Don't forget that you guys still need to send the pictures in to our Racer Ride section. You can win a year subscription and some other junk like a Tee Shirt and XXX Main Video if you're pick the winner of the month."

"Send all Racers' Rides pics to derekb@rc411.com. Put "Racers' Rides" in the subject line."

Sorry about this, but the winner of last months comp is not in the november issue, because Derek was out of the country and could not get it in the magizine.

RCpaint or Keith Harris from Scotia, NY!!!!!!

Sweet say I choose a car as the theme to follow, does it have to be the same body style ? Meaning say I chose a nascar paint theme and wanted to put it on a viper or something does that matter, or would it be best to stay the same body style if possible ?

Here's my theme entry for this month. I reckon Y'all can tell it's "Spiderman". I had a go with "Doc Oc" on the hood...but found that acrylic marker will float on top of lacquer based chrome paint...and then mostly vanish, much to my despair. I hope you will find the body to your liking just the same. It was a nice surprise for the friend it was painted for :) It's all done using Bob Dively's liquid mask, and Faskolor paints, with Spaz Stix "Mirror Chrome" details.

That is a sweet body, I dont think spidey would really like that one chick, Um........guy Kasey Kane. Him and his brother remind me of Mr Frodo and Sam from lord of the rings.
But seriously, Sweet body. The odds are 4 to 1 that a Taz body will enter, Superman is 6 to 1 and the simpsons and spongebob are 20 to 1 long shots. Place your bets. :D

Here is my entry. It was painted for my son 1 year ago for christmas to go on his new stampede. It is a maxx body but fits the stampede well. I understand if I am DQ'd because I painted it last year. I will post some more pics after I take them. This is the only one I have from when it was new, but it is still in great shape. Also posted is the pic I used for reference.
I used Dively liquid masking and Createx auto air paint. Gloss black, brite white and flame orange. I used only the logo stickers, the teeth and eyes were painted.

Hey while Im thinking about it, If anybody knows a LHS that has a new unpainted predator/prowler Parma body like the one I just posted please let me know. I would pay $35 plus shipping for one of these out of production bodies.

Here are some pics I just took of the prowler I painted for my 5 year old son. The amazing thing is how well he drives. We have a huge offroad track here at my house and my son is more interested in turning laps than all of the hell most of us put our 1st RC through. I just bought him a E Maxx this christmas since he is taking good care of his stampede.

Dont change the rules. There are probably a few guys working on stuff right now. It is a hard task, a good time to bust out the picture glue (see superman body a few xrc's ago). Dont let us all wuss out on the task put before us............

ok, I have a couple questions...

-want this to end and for me to start a new one?
-let it go until more entries come?

Stan@1stPlaceRace

I would end it and start a new one. Keep it open with no themes and maybe we can get alot more entries. I appriciate what you were trying to do, but with only 930+ members this is still one of the smaller forums. But its gaining about 10 members a day so I would definitly try a theme contest again in the future. All I know is this sucks :( .I was looking foreward to some nascar , or touring car replicas. I guess we were all to busy playing with our christmas presents.

The END...
Due to the low ammount of entries, I would like this competition not to be judged, but I will allow you to re-enter your bodies in another competition of choice.
Sorry for the incovience.
