As of now this is the only track trying to have races in 2006 that I know of. It is mine. its at my house, and it is free. If you are in the area I try to accomidate people on sundays. We are not "open" for racing unless it is a scheduled race day. Contact me at Stan@1stplacerace.com to make arrangements for sunday practice
I will post a race date on this thread by the end of the month.
Please post if you know of other tracks in the area. Stan www.1stPlaceRace.com .

Races at Stan's again? YeeHaw! Let me know if you want me to drop off any flyers to the hobby shops in Reno. Also, let me know if you need any help.
Stan@1stPlaceRace
01-13-2006, 11:08 PM
Well the track is always better when people show up on the weekends to practice and fix rough spots. What I really need is for everybody to show up for a friggin race. Christy is due in 8 days so Im not going to advertise any race for a few weeks. Dude, your skinny @$$ has not been out here for a year! I know..masters degree.... blah blah blah

Stan@1stPlaceRace
01-22-2006, 11:37 PM
I use a simple timing program with manual keyboard scoring. Sorry, i dont know randy b. But Fallon is kinda big compared to 15 years ago. There are even 2000 homes going in at Hazen. Fernly goes all the way to hazen now.
Stan@1stPlaceRace

Stan, I sent you a PM. I can drop those flyers off at slotworld this weekend.
Skeeno
02-14-2006, 12:33 PM
I dropped those flyers off Monday. Hopefully, that generates some interest. I am hoping for a good enough turn out on Saturday that we can race a little.
I had a good time practicing. The problem with my buggy was in the rear diff. The ring gear stripped. I fixed it already. I should be ready to go now. Mike is coming.
I attached a couple pics. I tried to load my video, but I can't remember my RC Pics ID.

Hey, I have heard a rumor that there is a new offroad track already built near the airport in carson city, and that racing starts in a month. It is supposidly a ROAR track. Time to get my hopes up again...........
Skeeno
02-20-2006, 08:11 PM
Is that being run by Hobbytown? Who can we call for details?
Stan@1stPlaceRace
02-20-2006, 08:48 PM
I heard this fron Chocco so who knows, but he said it is a private club, not associated with any hobby shops, or mike santiago. He said the owner of hobbytown and somebody else told him about it.

02-21-2006, 11:57 AM

Looks great. I'm looking forward to tearing it up this weekend. Think we'll have enough truggies show up to run an unlimited mt class? I'm anxious to run my new CRT, and surely you want to see that Hellfire run 'em, eh?
Skeeno
02-23-2006, 01:57 PM
I want to check out that CRT.
fullsyzz
02-23-2006, 02:48 PM
It's just the RTR version but with a couple goodies. Airtronics servos, Spektrum, M11, Dace 23mm hubs, and 40 series crimefighters on Wabash's. It's all broke in but hasn't even seen dirt yet. Should be interesting seems how it sounds like Stan's got a decent amount of time behind the transmitter with the Hellfire. We shall see.
Skeeno
02-23-2006, 02:57 PM
Stan can wheel around his track pretty well. He should, since it's in his backyard. It's a fun track. It's fast. Lot's of places to ring out the throttle. My Savage sounds like it's gonna blow half way down the straight.
Stan@1stPlaceRace
02-23-2006, 03:06 PM
Yea matt, I would get a bigger clutch bell installed before this weekend, We have a fast MT class, and yes, if skeeno or somebody else will time the truggy class I will race it. I have 2 guys , one's name is Tron coming down from Minden with CRT's They should pull my hellfire down the back straight, it really needs a bigger clutch bell. There is alot of interest in this race, despite the fact that the reno hobby shops are not really excited to tell there customers we are racing, I called AMS and slot car wharehouse and the both sounded like they could care less. You guys need to go hang out at those places and spread the word!!! :D
fullsyzz
02-23-2006, 04:43 PM
I was just in AMS today, and he didn't have any idea about the races, so I informed him. You're right though, he obviously isn't too interested in spreading the word. As far as the CRT's, vs. the Hellfire, for me anyway, it's more of a matter of me keeping my CRT rubber side down for me to have any chance of "pulling" any of you guys, even if you're just running a Hornet.
Skeeno
02-23-2006, 05:03 PM

I had a great time today. Thanks for having us out, Stan. I hope we get a good turn out next time. If we could do that once a month and get the Hawthornies and G'Villies out, it would be perfect. Let me know the date and I will make sure that AMS and Slotworld have flyers.
Fullsyzz, it was good to me you and your buddy, Eric. I hope you guys had fun and can make it next time.
Note...Fullsyzz will now have to race in the regular class after his crushing victory in Novice that made a 9 year old boy cry.

I have to agree with Skeeno, had one helluva good time today out at Stans track. Totally laid back day of rc'ing. Anybody reading this post, if you want to have some FUN running your rc's Stans is the place to go. Nice big track not to difficult for us not so experts yet challenging enough for the seasoned pro not to mention the great people I met today. I will be back.

Thanks to all who came out. If you plan on coming out before our NEXT RACE March 19th, thats fine, but please be prepared to do a little track work. The track took a serious beating and needs some TLC. Unfortunatly I was a little too busy to play photographer, but here are the pics I was able to take from the computer.

More pics, The 1st one really shows how beaten up the track got.
Stan-
Wanted to let you know that I am still in the area and still interested in racing. I stopped by your place once in the fall. However, I'm pretty tied up for at least the next month. I'll keep checking this forum for updates. How many electrics do you have show up? I run a 19T motor in a Losi buggy at the moment, and I'm not ready to switch over to gas-I've got enough invested at the moment in this set up. Is there a problem with me racing against gas vehicles if I can find some time in the next few months to come out?
Skeeno
02-26-2006, 11:07 AM
I think only one person had an electric this last race, but the races are about fun. You should be welcome to race against the gas 1/10 with your electric. I'm not sure how the mains would go. We ran 10min mains this time. Could your truck run 10mins?
Stan@1stPlaceRace
02-26-2006, 05:24 PM
Actually chocco and CJ would probably run mod truck with JKL. 2wd buggy is gonna be hell out here though. the track was like a motorcross track after the heats
Thanks to everybody who made a donation after the races. Here is a pic of what I was able to buy for the next race. 300 feet of hose, 1 gallon of concentrated weed killer and a new weed sprayer. Thanks again, we will have 2 water lines now which is a big help.

Hats off to Stan, what a great day of racing! Letting all us rednecks show up in your back yard and tear up the track......that'll teach you. It was great meeting all of you finally, and thanks to Skeeno, Randy, and Mark for all the help with my CRT, and getting up and down the ramp. It was just a great group of people having an even better time. And yeah, next time I will be racing a different class ;) Just a little more stick time and I might stand a chance to run with you fast guys. Once again, HUGE thanks to Stan, 1st Place Raceway, and a great group of people.

Your welcome!! :D
Stan@1stPlaceRace
02-27-2006, 11:01 AM
Our next race will be Sunday March 19th. We will race any class with at least 3 entries. Races are free. I will accept donations at the end of the day if anybody feels the need, Donations go to track equipment.
NEW TRACK RULE... YOU MAY ENTER NO MORE THAN 2 CLASSES.
This will assure we have enough marshalls and gas people.
If anybody has a problem with this we can talk , about it but it really would help out.
I have already started to fix the track, I have alot of loose dirt to shovel up so expect bigger/more jumps. :D
Stan@1stPlaceRace

I finished this tonight and it is a blast to run. We need to start a "retro" class. I know you guys could pony up $120 $250 to get a Lunchbox, blackfoot, frog, grasshopper, clodbuster built!

I was hoping to come get some stick time before the next race, but it aint happening. Seems how I have to be in Vegas next weekend :D for the race. Plus I have a grip of new parts for my CRT including the BCE racing CRT chassis, brace, and top plate that I want to install before then. We'll see. The heat in the summer doesn't bother me too much.....even in Fallon, so worst case scenerio I don't really learn how to drive till this Summer. I'll still be there the 19th though to see what's up.

Stan@1stPlaceRace
03-09-2006, 02:06 PM
No, numbers will still be done with the keyboard. I will see if rick from In Motion hobbies still has his AMB equipment. If so laps free is amb compatable and he might want to try to get it working.
fullsyzz
03-09-2006, 02:11 PM
That would be cool. But I got to hand it to you Stan. You've already got quite the cool set-up out there. I wish I had half the track size/set-up you do.......lap counting or not. But, I know you fast guys like to know what the fastest lap was, etc. Maybe soon enough I'll be fast enough to care how my lap times shape up to the others.

Rose Hwy. I'm totally up for a bashing session. We should do it. This weekend I'll be in Vegas for NASCAR, but after that, game on!
BTW....why is Stan wanting to switch forums....you know?
Stan@1stPlaceRace
03-09-2006, 03:17 PM
Dont get excited about AMB, i dont know if Rick still has it, Or if he would want to set it up here. Although it would be nice to learn how to use the friggin stuff. If we could get it to work. Dont "switch " forums but I still want to keep the old thread alive.

I am going to visit Traun and Bills tracks if possible.See what the accomidations are like. If we have the first 2 races in gardnerville It will help get people out here to fallon for the last race of the series. Rick knows alot of racers in Gardnerville that dont want to drive out to fallon to race.
Chocco, I forgot to tell you I have the paperwork here on the Ranger if you are still interested.

That would be a good weekend for us all to come out. We could all go buy fireworks for the 4th of July weekend.

Cool, thanks for posting pics Skeeno!
Hey, you guys think I could come race in Rescue/G'ville, etc. if I'm willing to let you guys help me/carry me up on the driver stand? It's totally cool having my own little stand out at Stan's, but I gotta tell ya, it's EXTREMELY difficult to see the track. While I'm not trying to blame my crappy driving on the lack of visibility, I do think I could do much better if I could see. And, I don't think there's anyone at Rescue, G'ville etc. to conatact like at Stan's to accomodate me. I'm special.
I don't mind being piggybacked, potato-sacked or whatever onto the driver stand, and it's always a group of good people so I'm sure you guys would be more than willing to help. :D Maybe even at Stan's from now on

The Rescue track has a wheelchair ramp. I'm not sure of the visibity up there if you are sitting though. We might have to get a lift kit for your wheelchair.
Stan@1stPlaceRace
03-23-2006, 12:16 PM
If we could get some material I could easily build a ramp at my track, Probably 8 4x4 posts, 3 or 4 sheets of 3/4 or 7/8 plywood, and some 2x4's and I could make the left side of the stand chair accessible.

Hey, thanks guys. I think what I'll do is bring a bar stool or some sort of "high chair" and sit in that up on the driver stand. I've never been to Rescue, that's cool they already have a ramp. I'm willing to pay for and help build a ramp out at your place, Stan. Also, the platform you built for me is awesome Stan, but it is SO hard to see from down there, it's amazing I make it around the track as well as I do. It's great you guys are so willing to help out, I really appreciate it. Keep me posted on the ramp materials and I will do all I can to help out.

We've got more wood than you can shake a stick at. Plenty of 2x4's and 2x6's. I might even be able to get a few railroad ties if need be. No plywood though. I will have to make some calls about those however. I just need some help getting the wood from my compound to your place Stan.

Can I bring a truck on to the base? I can get a good sized truck this weekend or next. As long as you wont get into trouble.
autox7
03-24-2006, 06:41 PM
This weekend is better than next. I will be moving next weekend so that won't work so hot.
You can bring your truck as long as I sponsor you to get on and off the base. Not a big deal. Just make sure that all of your info, ie registration/insurance/driver's license, is current and the paperwork will only take a few minutes.
I sent you an e-mail with my phone number in it. Call me and we can work something out. I have plans for tomorrow afternoon, but nothing on Sunday.

Hey Sy I managed to end up with two left side rear uprights. Can you check your box and see if you have the matching pair in right sides. I really need the right side if you have it. I am doing a chassis up rebuild and that is all that I am missing. Let me know if you have it.
Thanks

I have the ramp frame built. If anybody wants to come out Saturday to practice I could use some help raising the ramp frame up, and attaching it to the drivers stand. It is a 24 foot straight ramp and should be easy for both chair and foot access. Hey Sy, should I put a double jump at the bottom? I dont know if you are into Xtreme chair racing....... :D

There is a new site where all of you guys can find info on the new track and pretty much everything RC in the reno carson area. The track is just off the highway on flint road. There is a rc flying field there. The track will be associated with a existing club, High Sierra Radio Control. Racing and practice will be allowed for anybody who is a ROAR or AMA member.

If you go thru dayton and start down the hill into carson you will see a sign for the dump on the left side of the road. The track is at the High Sierra RC Club. Please visit the thread they have in the club / track section of the www.renoradiocontrol.com site. The guys there have also gratiously provided 1st Place Raceway with its own section.
Since we only race every 5 weeks or so it wont effect our schedule. I bet this helps alot actually. I have already been in contact with a ton of new people.

Hey guys. I've been in Chicago at a conference for work since last Wednesday, so sorry for the lag time. Randy, I do have the upright you need, so I can get that to you however is best. Want me to ship it? Stan, SWEET on the ramp. I'm thinking I'd like to come out and practice next weekend if possible, but I'm not for sure just yet. And make that double a tripple jump at the bottom of the ramp, I'll wear a helmet, get a push from behind and go for it! And as for this new track.....any chance it's got a ramp, or can be modified you guys know? It's good to see more and more tracks and people getting involved. And you guys are awesome for helping me out. Hopefully we can get more people involved that are in chairs that have held back because of accessibility.
