I am interested in building my own RC off-road track at my new home. I have 10 acres, and want to make a place for me and my friends to drive our nitros (and electrics). I don't know the first thing about making a track, so I would like to do some research on it. Does anyone know where I can look to get tips/tricks on building a dirt track? I'm not looking for advice on tools, and machinery to use to build it, I more need information on standard widths for tracks, jump heights, distance between jumps, banking corners, etc... Can anyone help? If any XRC guys are reading this, this topic my be a good one for your magazine, for those of us that don't have many track options in our area. I will open my track to the public too, so I will need information on running a track, and what will draw in hobbiests. Thanks a lot!!

WOW  ten acres huh? wish i had that! anyway, it all depends on you and the type of racing crowd you want to frequent your fine racing establishment. you wanna try to keep the track as challenging as possible, but also easy on cars. i've raced on tracks that look sweet and flow like no other, until you get out there and race. in turn, this dropped track attendance quite a bit this past year, and they're having to re-design the whole thing from scratch. as for jumps and straits(not to contradict the before said statement)big air+fast speed=FUN!! that's the main objective to a busy track FUN!!! and as for width, with the 1/8 buggies and truggies becoming the hot classes, i'd say @12-15 feet(and groomed is always a plus!!!) but also leave alittle room between lanes for turn marshals. it would also help cut down the head on collisions from throttle jockeys (such as myself :D ) well, i could go on and on and on, but............ best of luck to ya (and hope none of this confuses you, i'm to tired to be typing this much LOL!
