situated on the Edgewood Middle School Grounds is a PTSA-made (parent, teacher, student, association) track boasting 110' by 60' (dimesions are estimated so i am told). my students pratice on mondays afterschool until 4:30. it's somewhat technical, but also jumps and tall berms to keep the pace quick. i will post up our pics as soon as i can. forgot my camera today. anyone is welcome to use our facilty, just be nice and don't step on the berms please. we will be hosting a race in the month of june. just look for it and i'll post it on this forum as well. adults are welcome to our races, just don't cry when you get beaten by our kids.
but please come visit anytime, you'll see a lot of the locals that have caught wind of it come by with their toys. you can too. hope to see you guys there.

technically, the track is open all day and night. unfortunately, there are no lights, so night racing is not available. the students race frequently throughout the week after school from 2:30 to dark. our club meets only on mondays from 2:30 to 4:30. our next big race is sometime in june. anyone can join us, but only kids can win the prizes. but come and check it out, you may be very surprised that it's really on school grounds and that it is bigger than pegasus' track. it's technical and fast paced with big jumps and little ones. we think it's fun and best of all - absolutely free.

don't let all that loose dirt fool you. it'll rain tomorrow and the next day. and into the next week. our track becomes so hardpacked, that your holeshots needs replacing.

i stopped by yesterday and it looks preety good. if i can make a suggestion.....i noticed one turn (i donot remember the others) is a 90, i think a sweeping turn would give 1/8 scale more room. i don't know if the district only gave you that much room, but a wider track (8' wide) would be cool, just suggestions.

unfortunately, that's it for the room. we can't expand wider for fear of the soccer players that play on saturday revolting and demolishing our hard work. and as for longer, that's it as well. but thanks for checking it out. our main intention was primarily for 1/10th scale electric and gas. turns out mostly 1.8th and monsters run on our track. i run a mod B4 and it does that track with great speed and finesse. the other kids with their 1/8th scale does just fine, just not as quick. but they do thank us when they go to other bigger places because they have learned to drive on a smaller technical track. when it's not raining, come and join us. i think i'll be going there sometime this week because it's my break. i'll be working on it as well as driving. stop by if you can.

cool, thanks for the invite. i run 1/8 buggy and monster, as well as my bro in laws. i will let them know about the track and the best part that it is free. we run mostly at revelation in montclair. the only time is on weekends, unless we have that special monday holiday. i also work for a school district but work year round.

hey guys,
you are all invited to come to the end of the year race for our club members. my students are gearing up to end school soon and we thought our kids should be sent off in style. i am personally inviting anyone to come and be part of this race. it's very "grass roots" sort of thing (no lap counters or transponders), just fun and competition. we will be serving hotdogs and soda. i emailed a few local companies and many have showed interest and are sending reps to show off their stuff to our students. you guys are more than welcome to come. bring your gear if you want also. we'll have free racing after the big race. we are having a big race for my kids on:
Race of the Year 2006
when: Thursday, June 15th 2006
time: 2:30 till it's over
where: Edgewood Middle School RC track
