ok how do i get this design below onto the inside of my buggy shell, seeing as its pretty curvy and will be hard to make a template on the inside? do i just mask up the inside with masking tape then somehow cut around it or what. or maybe i would be able to cut it out as a flat shape out of book contact then stick it on the inside. i dont have an airbrush lol, but im very handy with a normal spray gun and cans. any help or new ideas would be much appreciated, ive looked through the "biggest paint thread ever" thread and thought, 'holy crap these guys are good" so i know yous have the talent.
cheers
forgot to add, the image is about 200mm x 250mm

the best way to do that would be to purchase some liqued mask and follow the directions. take your design and trace it with a fine tipped permenent marker and slowly and patiently cut out your design out of the mask. this way will allow you to lay out the design on the top exactly the way you want it. (providing your clear body DOES have the paint protect masking over the top of the lexan body) or you can purchase XXXmain "do it yourself masking" and cut out the design and in sections (long ways) apply your design again patiently because most likely your body is curved and it will take time. start in the middle and work your ways out to make sure your design is centered. also make sure after your mask is placed to rub the edges with your finger nail firmly but not too hard as to disturb the masking. This will assure you have a tight clean fit against the body before you paint and it will prevent bleeding. it also helps to have a hot blow dryer to streach if needed the mask against the lexan where and if it curves. if this is your first time. I suggest making the mask as easy as you can to start out with and after awhile of doing it a few times you will get the hang of it. Then paint and allow to dry. after your paint has dryed. take the time again to lightly cut allong the edge of your mask for any of the applications so you can avoid tearing of the paint that may be applied to thick. this will give your job a nice clean look. Now slowely and patiently remove the mask starting at all and any of the sharpest corners. use a hobby knife for all cutting and reeding of the masking material. now you are ready for the second coat. it all is a long process but in the end the reward is knowing that your time and effort resulted in a job well done. good luck to you

my lifelong secret, dont waste cash with xxxmain stuff, granted its really good and super easy to use, instead I hand cut all my masks out of vinyl shelf liner, its like $1 for a nice sized roll at the dollar store, lasts a great long time and cuts easy. after you apply it hit it with a heat gun or a hair dryer to melt it a little, it gets soft at a low temp so dont melt it melt it, but then it gets real stretchy and gets into all the nooks and crannies of the body.

last night i picked up, the body, the 3 cans of paint ill be using, and a small bottle of liquid mask. ive cut the body shape out and everything, i ended up getting the pro line crowd pleaser 2.0 body. now because the windows are so big on this body, the flames i was gunna use are mainly covering the windows and about half as much as i wanted them too, so now i need to find a new flame design. does anybody have any on thier computer that you could post up and i could save. if you do that would be tips but if you dont, ill find one somewhere on the net lol

last night i painted on the liquid mask, and finished the main colour gunmetal gray, now all thats left is to peel the liquid mask off and do the pink flames fading into blue up front then add the graphics, looks good so far, im glad i bourght the liquid mask instead of doing it with masking tape, no leaks under the sides of the liquid mask at all, cept one but its only very tiny and isnt noticable. so yeah thanks for the help guys much appreciated, if i figure out how to post some pics ill do it

now on the part that may have bleed through. if it bleed through on an area that is not yet painted. you can take the tip of your exacto knife and lightly scrape on the paint very gently, sometimes this will resolve the problem because the lexan paint is a latex type paint. generally when you paint the next color it will fill in the light scratches. if it looks as if the paint will be a hard remove then I guess your stuck with it, just be wise in your choice and it will work out in your favor

i had another look and yes it is only very tiny so i will be able to scrape it off. i thought that was pretty good, first paint job and only a small minor bleed lol. looks good with the gun metal gray, i was gunna go with black but after seeing the metallic effect in the gunmetal it looks sweet, i did about 3-4 light coats. now to the part about peeling off the liquid mask, fun fun
