Hello:

Thought I might submit the following: Queenie. Queenie is a Savage SS. Proline 50's Chevy pickup body, with Faskolor used all around. The sparkles are copper, custom decaling by Red Ninja Studios in Silicon Valley:

Queenie and cousin Moby (an LST) with their lights on.

Backside of Queenie with sponsor decals. Notice the Euro style clear covered taillights:

It's been a long time since I've posted anything. Now that the dirt oval season is over, I'm submitting my weekly racer. This is a 10th scale Eastern Dirt Modified (EDM) body by Kipps Hobbies. It is painted with Parma FasKolor paints. The wizard is hand cut vinyl mask and the lightning bolts were masked with masking tape. The numbers are the only stickers and they were cut from vinyl.

Oh!! The chassis is a Custom Works Intimidator.

there should be rules against entering bodies your going to sell on ebay
Why?

Also I'm getting tiered of seeing true fire, because Ben let his secrets out, so it just doesn't have that winning edge anymore. (Everyone does it, so it just doesn’t appeal to me anymore, unless you get creative in how you add it to your paint scheme)

I don't think a rule is necessary. It can also be an interesting experiment if a winner of this contest sells a winning body on eBay--it might drive up the value if it's a "contest winner." :)

Please note that I don't sell bodies on eBay...hell I'm just trying to find the time to fix my own stuff.

I'm just catching up on some of the old contest entries, and all these paintjobs look great!

The "true fire" is the flame effect with the overlapping colors? Maybe I'm not super tuned into hotrod culture, but this is the first I'm seeing it on R/C like this. I wish my local hobbyshop had displays with things like this in them...

PyroMike

Joe, "true fire" is sicklidz second entery. ( the first one is a form of true fire, but it's green and has added skulls i it) It's called true fire because it looks like real fire.

OK, I hate to say this but if I recall, I was notified to keep the chatter down on this thread as to keep it open for posting what the intentions of this tread is for. On a final note. I honestly don't get bored with anything someone does as far as a paint job goes, Well basically because I CANT DO THAT, and it still looks cool! Now Pyro I think you may have hurt Drifts feelings :) Everyone I personally think your doing a great job, it is really nice to see clear painting skills from experts to novice painters. at this time I admire you and hope to someday have some skills like you guys.

I try, but it doesn't always work that way :p (looks like I’m adding to the clutter . I forgot that drift had that one up there. (Bodies like to hide at the top of the page these day's) It’s not that I get bored of true fire it’s just that everyone has form of it that it takes away from the paint competitions on where you are supposed to have something “original.”

Nice job everybody.

I would like to take this opportunity to retire as R/C paint comp judge and XRC forum poster. I am burned out on this hobby and dont really care about it much anymore. The industry is evolving so fast that it is impossible to keep up with. Im sick of dropping a grand on a kit that is out of date 3 months later. Too many scales, too much money for "competitive" equipment. Thanks to all of my friends around here. I think Im going to go by some 4 wheelers and spend a few years fishing with my kids

Why stop doing RC? You can always bash with your cars, and not have to worry about buying the next big thing for racing. Also if you are racing you don't need high end equipment if you are there to have fun. Just don't quit, instead take some RC's with when you go some where. It's great that you want to spend time with your kid's, but stay in the hobby for fun. Also who will be the judge?

Great job rcpaint, and everyone else who entered.

Stan, I totaly understand where you are comming from. I agree the industry lately is growing way too fast indeed. Something's need to be up-graded and others should be left alone. it is like all of a sudden everyone is jumping on the industry bandwagon and releasing 8-10 versions of the same thing with slight differances from eachother. and for those of us who are addicted and or commited (literaly) to this hobby, it is very expensive to keep up, by the time you are caught up you need to purchase the next thing. I think maybe the industry needs to think about things and realize that if they keep blasting out stuff quicker than we can get to them, sooner or later the industry is going to turn this hobby into another fad that will just end in alot of companies going under because they wanted a piece of the pie too. is it possible that maybe for once some companies could just invent a car or truck or truggie and allow the mainstream public a chance to catch up on it and enjoy it. Probably not, because like all companies there is that want and need to compete and if companie A , B, and C decided that maybe they were moving too fast. There is always those small handfulls of the D, E, and F companies that wont care and keep blasting them out, which will result in A, B, and C being shot out of the industry. These hobby makers need to agree as a collective that slowing down is a good thing and can only keep this good thing alive or I fear that years from now we will all be looking back talking about what RC used to be and not what it is. I was going to go to iHobby and meet some of the XRC members, but mainly I was going to see the new stuff being brought out at iHobby. but I too am a bit burned out and tierd of trying to play catch up. sometimes you have to learn to walk away and take a breath. Too much is not fun, it is agravating. Stan good luck to you, That is if you walk away for a bit. But dont go away too long, maybe things will change after all in the long run. To end on this subject I would like to add, I am very much for progress, but I have to note when is too much too much? there has to be a pace for this industry if we expect to keep it intresting and competitive, if we are forced to swallow large amounts of it, eventually the companies feeding us with overkill are going to choke the life out of the industry and leave it with a bad taste in all our mouths. Stay tuned for a change or comming soon at a hobby shop near you, 1/2 price Losi's, Xrays, and Associate's
Pyro, I think it was decided before Stan was voted in to be the XRC paint moderator judge. That you were the second nomination choice. As we know Derek will need to know who is the new judge. You and Stan will have to work that out. I hope that you can still maintain a judging in the same manner Stan was. I think his point system was pretty good.
Ok, take care.
