Well Pyro, if you are looking for the contest to gain a roll. I think it would most likely be best if you delegate a second judge. This way you can alternate with someone and it allows either of you a chance to enter. I really dont want to see this paint thing end up where it was before if you know what I mean. it seamed to be a problem getting a correct judgeing let alone a winning subscription. If you need to get a contest running correctly, I think it would be wise to take a month and coralate with someone the new rules and prosess to which this contest will be judged. This way there is NO confussion and the contestants will be happier with the contest. As you know how the CFX site is run for the contests. I think that concept or an amature and a professional would bring more cont6estants to the site to enter and allow contestants a better chance of showing off thier work. But also it would appear that Derek would have to agree with allowing 2 winners, 1 for each class to win a subscription.

Why aren't there any entry's here ???..

I will kick of with the first entry !

It's a normal Stratus body and (except the lights and air intake) everything is painted !
I used Auto Air detail colors black, white and red for the face, rest of the body is painted with Auto Air detail red en neon yellow, "PSYCHO" was painted with faskolor blue and charkoal black.

It's mounted on my 415 TRF and i race it myself... I'm a Psycho on the track... you can say it's me on the hood !

Attached is my Proline Crowd Pleazer 2.0 body for my Traxxas Revo. I painted this for our big Summer Shootout, the weekend Talladega Nights was released. The numbers, hood logo and "wonder" onthe quarter panels are all cut out of the liquid masking. The logos on the fenders are Parma decals. The wing decals were changed to the neon red before the race weekend. That is why the three shots on pavement are in black. Enjoy!

Here are a couple more. The mostly yellow body is my usual race scheme and the flamed body is what I run during practices. All my bodies are just liquid masking and rattle cans. All number decals and larger logos are cut out of vinyl by hand.

Momo, Hey seen your Rc several months ago in one of the magazines. Nice truck. Black and green are always so pretty together.

Thanks. The pic that was in the mags was a lot like the flamed one. It was yellow with a charcoal gray. When the extended body came out for the 3.3 I did this flamed body in yellow and black. This time I outlined the flames with a thin silver pin stripe. I have tried going to some other colors for my bodies, but always come back to the yellow and black.... :)

I also recall the photo (deja vu?) and like the pushrod covers, if that's really what you did, or are they painted? or fuel tubing?

Here is my Mugen MBX4XR. I painted this body for a big race in Madera, CA. The 1st Annual North vs South race at Central Valley RC Club. Two-tone white/silver with a Chester cheetah flame. I used a flame mask which i modified and all the Chester Cheetah spots were hand cut. I used all Faskolor paints sprayed through an airbrush. The last shot was after the Finals on Sunday. (14 lbs of buggy & muck!)

The pushrods are wrapped with yellow adhesive vinyl.

This is my last point job, done it yesterday.
I call it "The phantom menace".
Accept from light and grill (which are original protoforms labels) every thing is paint.
I use Mazda 6 protoform body for my Xray T2.
I use Faskolors for most of the work and only SpazTix form mirror.
I work on the body especially of a new opening track.

Enjoy.
Gabby.

Dave I hope your camera batteries are charged, because here is the results.

Well the comp is over and now it is time for the judging.
Remember this is a paint comp, and this will be some of the hardest critiquing that your shell will face. You all did a great job on the bodies you entered, and be proud of what you have entered even if it doesn’t win.

Mustang – “PSYCHO” Stratus body
1. Over all design = 11
2. Cleanliness = 15
3. Difficulty = 11
Total = 37
The shell is very clean, but he design is lacking. It would make a great race body, but the sides are too plain. The “PSYCHO” face is nicely done, but other then that the difficulty isn’t has high because the rest is too plain.

Mobo.75 - Proline Crowd Pleazer 2.0 body for REVO
1. Over all design = 14
2. Cleanliness = 12
3. Difficulty = 14
Total = 40
Very nicely done. The cleanliness is low because of the stickers, if they weren’t there you would have scored higher (this is a paint comp, not a sticker mounting comp). It’s a really good copy of the original.

Mobo.75 – body # 2
1. Over all design = 10
2. Cleanliness = 13
3. Difficulty = 9
Total = 32
It is nicely done, the black and yellow go good together. The pin looks nicely done, but the pic’s are a little “small” to see any of the detail work. Very nice and clean, and it makes a nice race body. Well done.

Mobo.75 – body #3
1. Over all design = 12
2. Cleanliness = 13
3. Difficulty = 10
Total = 35
The body is very nicely done, how ever it is a little plain for a paint comp, but makes for a great racing shell. I like the window trim as well. ;)

Twisted333 - Mugen MBX4XR
1. Over all design = 9
2. Cleanliness = 12
3. Difficulty = 7
Total = 28
The body is nicely done, but it is way too plain for a paint comp. I know the precut masks make painting easy; however they will make your score go down. The body is free of bleeds (but not free of mud, lol), and the colors for the cheetah flame go great together however they do look to “planed” out which makes them look off.

Jtcages - Traxxas body for Jato
1. Over all design = 14
2. Cleanliness = 7
3. Difficulty = 12
Total = 33
The overall design is nicely done, but there is too many paint bleeds for it to score high. Remember to spray in very light mists when you are working with tape to prevent the paint from running under the tape. Other then that, it was nicely done.

Kremerica – protoform Mazda 6
1. Over all design = 9
2. Cleanliness = 14
3. Difficulty = 10
Total = 33
The body is nicely done, and it’s very clean. The over a design is too simple the focus is mostly on the hood then the top center of the shell. The light sabers on the side look like an after thought as you wanted something on the side so it didn’t look as plain. Maybe on your next one give it some thought to see if it will work with the rest of the design. The people on the top are lacking in detail, but with a little patience they would have been better looking (take the extra time to add some detail). Well done
