Just a question. Most RTR cars come with painted windows. Is it possbile to use some sort of patin stripper and remove the paint on the windows and make them clear?
Cheers

I have heard that they are accually huge layers of some sort of vianl tape sealed between two lexan body parts, but i heard that it is possiable. You may want to try denatured alchohal Paint Thinner and airbrush thinner, if one of those dont work, you can mix the together, but be carefuul when doing it, im not responsiable for anything that goes wrong.
No. They cannot be made clear. Prepainted bodies are sometimes printed lexan. Other times they are actually paint. But even the ones that are paint can't be made clear again. Using paint thinner or almost any kind of solvent will damage the lexan. Even if you were able to remove the paint it wouldn't be perfectly clear at all.

I am not always right. I'm just speaking from my experience. If anyone can remove paint from a pre-painted body, I'd like to know how they did it. I'm sure everyone would. :D

i heard paint comes off with nitro fuel?
HEY it looks like it is possible with some work. Jason used some Mr. Color thinner and was able to remove the screen printing from a prepainted lexan body. It did take some elbow grease but it does work. See I'm not always right. But you learn something new everyday. You can try this if you'd like but I would suggest doing it on a newer body to get the windows as clear as possible. Don't rub too hard or it will fog up a bit. Staying within the window trim is a pain too. Not to mention this stuff is expensive.

My dad decided he was going to try and take some time with nailpolish remover (not sure if it was acetone fee or not). It worked, but left a foggy finish in the body. i think its more worth the money to get a new body and spend time painting it instead of trying to take paint off of an old one.

I agree with taht...buying a new body is always better and you get to use your own scheme too! Well, fog can sometimes be cool...
