i personally think we should do something where the users on the fourms say what ride they like the best. but, the contestants cannot judge, only other viewers. just my .02

I like the idea of theme competitions. Something different than we might normally do...new ideas and tricks can come from such activity...τΏτ-

I personally would love to see some of the babes of the month have a bikini jello wrestling match... hehe, cmon everyone wants to see that!
So you guys mean like painting competitions? Do a theme match, or detail competitions. Really theres not much besides that for painting r/c bodies....

HA!!! you bet ya I wanna see jello resteling.. hhmmmmm
As far as paint you could do like an old school flames, or maybe custom graphics, like lettering etc.

Bikini Jell-O wrasslin'...now, that's a tough act to follow!...but very exciting to watch...τΏτ=
How about some kind of home made body/paint contest? Such as...Who can make the most practical, or best looking, body using free stuff -usually reserved for bin 13- like two liter coke bottles or something? Insane? lame? It might be difficult to stretch a bottle like that over a 1/10 scale car (?) but I'll bet with a little imagination something workable could be easily made for 1/18 scale. Well?

Theme paint schemes gets my vote, unless the bikini wrestling is still an option, then I would go for that instead.

Why don't we paint theme schemes of bikini Jell-O wrestling on a body....not THAT kind... ;) On our cars/trucks, etc...I don't have the first clue as to how to paint realistic looking Jell-O! Much less the rest.. :p .do you?...τΏτ= Well?

now...if someone could paint realistic jello, that would,be cool, matter of fact i can paint realistic jello, leme get my paint brush out and paint the realalistic jello in my kitchen...lol, but for real, that would be hot on a car body...

Well...I've tried it...and I found out fast you've got to keep the air pressure very low, to keep from blowing the realistic looking Jell-O off the car body when trying to paint it. That was about as easy as polishing a turd! My car body is a mess! This experiment has gone very wrong someplace... Maybe we ought to be trying to paint something that will pass for realistic looking Jell-O -and hot wrestling chix....let's not forget that part!- instead of trying to paint the actual schtuff...ya think?lol!...τΏτ=
I've an idea some sort of hand held shading shield to form the cubes might be best(?) Liquid mask? How to make a decent cube? Maybe use different colors too? as if mixed, colored, cubes of Jell-O. Otherwise...it would end up looking like a regular ol splash, or drip paint job. Well? How would you go about it? I'm still not in control of my airbrush well enough to make reliable cubes I fear... I'm still not shading as it ought to be done....to be honest. I suppose that's the best place to start...painting those line and circle exercises sure does get boring after a while.... :(

if you want to, and you win, just ask him...or you can just go to her website (search on google or something for it, and meet her at one of her shows...
hmm...you could restrict it to only certain colors. Require a certain technique be used or that a certain graphic type must be used. Or even go one step further and use inspiration as a restriction: cartoon inspired, video game inspired, movie inspired.

Heres an idea. make it as close to possible as a real car. I.E. Windshield wipers, door handles (no decals), interior!?!?!, anything that makes it look real.

well i like that one, sorta like model it after a real car, and post up te real cars pic with it sounds like a good idea...i think ill try that next month.

I think anyone of us would want to meet Courtney. At least I will say this, By far the best one in XRC. I will settle for an encore of her appearance to the magazine

Man, I know Courtney Day is freekin hot, but I'd much rather meet Nena
http://www.rc411.com/pom/nena/05.jpg
But I dont think XRC wants to pay for my airfare down to the States just to meet a model... lol
As for the detail competition, im thinkin it doesnt have to be like lookin from the factory, it can have a gnarly paint job but it need to have some killer detail which is visible. Im also thinkin those Yokomo drifter bodies should be un-useable due to there high detailedness (shut up I know its not a word) already .
is this XRC or rcca?
It's definitely XRC! The contests here are without a doubt all Dan's. He's succeeded here with a lot of talented painters where RCZ is less than successful. Didn't realize my answer to his question to the forum would cause contention.

I like this idea a lot..as it seems to inspire one to try harder..or possibly be more creative, if limits on colors, design, and such are imposed. I also like the super detail idea...but instead of paying so much $ for a yokomo drift body...make the detail parts yourself.

i like that part...to make the parts by yourself

Yes....make them yourself..like the exhaust on my Lamborghini -see pic-...τΏτ= Geeezzz! You operate CNC machinery...I would think that making parts would be something right up your alley... Just the same... I'll attach a couple of 'theme cars' I've painted for my wife, and myself. Her car is the 'nasty car' -I don't really know much about-...except it's impossible to find sticker sets for this stuff...so I had to 'do it backwards'..and try my best to be a very steady X-Acto pilot. The newest Spaz Stix chrome paint really does look great if it's applied as instructed. Although it will crash out if you try to cover too large an area.....such as the entire body....τΏτ= Looks Okay on the pipes, bumpers, etc. of my 427 Cobra I think. (I wish I had known about it before painting the Lamborghini!) Too bad our LHS is closing..as that will end our need for new bodies fast. Enjoy these!
