News:

Quote from Derek:
September competition:
Since you guys are putting the time and effort in, I'm going to try and make this happen this month. In our next issue (December 2005) I'm going to make the Custom Works Colum feature the bodies in these paint contest. I might not be able to feature them all, but I want to try and get them in there as inspriration.

Now I can't promise this as 100% yet, because I do have a planned article, but I think it would be cool to show our readers of the print magazine your hard work on line."RC411 Paint Competition!"
Quote for page 25 of spet issue:
"Think that you can paint? Most of us can barely get two colors to match, but some of you can throw down a paint scheme that could be right at home on a church ceiling. So we want to see if you have got what it takes by entering our new monthly painting contest on our website. Check out the forums and hit up the painting section for guidelines and rules. The winner will be featured here [the mag] and win a free 6 month subscription of XRC!"
Quote from Derek:
"Don't forget that you guys still need to send the pictures in to our Racer Ride section. You can win a year subscription and some other junk like a Tee Shirt and XXX Main Video if you're pick the winner of the month."

"Send all Racers' Rides pics to derekb@rc411.com. Put "Racers' Rides" in the subject line."

Sorry about this, but the winner of last months comp is not in the november issue, because Derek was out of the country and could not get it in the magizine.

Winners:

June/July Best Paint:
RCpaint or Keith Harris from Scotia, NY!!!!!!

September Paint:

Prize of Choice: "How To Paint" a $14.99 value (USD)

:D This is my DuraTrax StreetForce GP2 and my Evader ST.
The Street Force has a Proto-form Mazda 6 body & the Evader is a stock DuraTrax body
Both have been painted with Pactra paints done in Neon Green and Outlaw Black
And masked with Spaz Stix Greed Masking from the 7 deadly sins collection,
Then labled with decals from XXXMAIN, XRC, OS, and JaDesigns
The reason that I think makes these different is that anyone can lay down a paint job.
But how many people go as far as making the inside look just as good as the outside?
I have to say that I am very happy with my paint jobs considering they were both my very first ever. and they turned out with out any blemish's or screwup's.
I have to say the main inspiration was because of a past reader in Racer's Rides of XRC because he had 5 vehicles all painted in a Team Theme. When I saw those pictures it drove me to own an RC car get into the amature racing. I now own 7 Vehicles and am working on them till I have a race inspired team theme for every class.
So far my list is...

DuraTrax Nitro Evader ST
DuraTrax Nitro Street Force GP2
MRC Thunder King (Now Re-vamped and beat the piss out of a E-MAXX)
Team Associated RC10b4
Team Associated TC4FT
Team Losi LST2
Kyosho Pure Ten Alpha EP (Re-Vamped into a street car)

Thanks for letting me post these again and next month I will post my newest project

I'd like to submit a body I've recently painted for my wife.
I call it "Her Nasty Car". I really don't know much about that sort of racing -Y'all please don't hate me! but, I want windshield wipers & headlights that really work...and see racing in rain, or shine..turn right now and then..Oops! I digress..pardon me. I do know this...the stickers for this stuff are impossible to find! Soooo...I resorted to 'doing it backwards' as I call it. I've made the stencils for the graphics, and logos using my computer to skew the numbers, make "Goodwrench" logos, etc. I used a little toy replica to get close to the 'correct' paint scheme. I've painted it using all Faskolor paint. The small details - signature on roof, etc- were done by hand, with a bamboo skewer and Faskolor paint.
The body is an HPI, NASCAR style Chevrolet, Monte Carlo.
My inspiration came from my wife's desire to tear around the local bashing lots, in a 'stock car' like her favorite driver's. It's mounted on her Tamiya "TT-01" Chassis. Too many hop ups to list.. It's a very fun -she loves it!-, and totally reliable car -I love it!-, especially for new folks looking for a first ride. I hope you will enjoy the pix as much as she loves her car! :)

Another RC 18T body. Remember Underdog? Well here's my tribute to the Great American K9 Super Hero. This is another McAllister Late Model body, I paint alot of these because of the large flat hood surface is perfect for painting pictures. This body was masked with a combination of tape and vinyl masking. All of the paints used were Parma FasKolor I used their translucent red and translucent Blue paints, then sprayed Parma silver metal flake, another coat of translucent red and blue then backed everything with silver pearl. Well hopefully this paint job will make me faster at Sundays race, after all "speed of lightning, roar of thunder, its Under Dog"

I really like your underdog body!! Inspired me to enter my wife's RC18t "Mini Monster Mutt" this month (Is this allowed? more than one car per contest?) Delete if not...
I've painted it -per her request- using a little toy as a model for the 'correct' paint scheme. I've used Faskolor acrylic paint exclusively for this project...as usual. I had to do a little creative paint mixing..but I think I got close to the right colors -to the toy & pix I had anyway-. The ears were made using an old pair of moccasins I keep around to make leather gaskets and such from. The tongue is red felt..and it keeps getting shorter, with each bad crash (lol!) I've used Bob Dively's marvelous masking liquid..both inside, and out, as this body didn't have any overspray film. I've installed a set of Trinity's super cool touring car wheel adaptors to fit the outrageous Pro Line wheels and tires. Worked out Okay I think. I hope you will find it to your liking.

Here is my submission for the theme paint contest.
The theme is Halloween, ghosts, and spooky places.
It is a Parma Gravedigger body for the T-maxx.
The paints used are all fastcolor blue, black, white, brown, red, fastcoat, fastint.
I used a combo of liquid mask and masking tape and stencils.

This is a ProLine trailer body for E-max.
I have painted it for my friend.
I used faskolors only. I didn't use any labels stickers beside the stickers that come with the body such as the grill and front lights even roof lights were painted.
The painting job was a challenge for me since it was something different than most of my previous painting jobs.

Sorry for being a little late. I just got finished getting all my stuff figured out. Well here goes nothin...

News:
XXXMain has not gotten back to a couple of my e-mails, so I can not promiss a DVD for this winner or any fiture winners. I will still display there banner until I get news, but I am sorry for the inconvience.

I am the judge now.

The Magizine Prize is Still On

I will start a new comp right after I judge this.

Revisions of the Rules will be made.

Now for the Judging:

team3six:
-Truck:Very Nice and strong. Realy brings out the green in ya...Alot of stickers, but they do tie into the theme portion of the contest.
-Car: Very nice and smooth once again. I like this better than the truck because of the less stickers, and once again it fits with the theme of the body.

Nitroracerx7:
-Nascar: Very nice car. Looks just like the real car! Very clean lines and amazing detail! In this case the stickers make the body! It fits extremely well with the body! Very nice job!
-Underdog: Also another well themed body. Not as detailed as the Nascar, but still very smooth and has a nice theme.

rcpaint:
-The undger dog theme also fits in with the theme type paint job, and is also very detailed. Although in some places I feel that the freehand work should be a little smoother and more defined, Maby outlined? Well good luck at the races!

BlazinB4:
-Spongbob well...lol nice body! I like the theme alot...I guess that you could say that I am a spongebob fan...and the Freehand work is extremely nice!

Markarck:
-Again, a very nice body! Very cleanly done, and a very nice choice of colors...and it also fits in with the theme contest!

Kremerica:
-Hey..you got it fixed! Well...very nice work on the body! Very clean and nice choice of colors!

JimCrawler:
-Very nice choice of colors...I like the red and black, they always work very well together...

The Winner is...

Wow!! Freaked out doesn't come close to how I feel about this surprise! I'm blown away! With SO many really great rides here this month... I didn't think I had a snowball's chance... I understand about the prize thing..no big deal. You've already given me the prize that matters most... :) I've considered sending in a few pix in for the monthly magazine thing...I'll try to remind him then.
I want to offer my deepest gratitude to you all for judging my work so favorably this month! I would also like to thank my fellow competitors that have worked as hard, or harder, than I to be here. Keep at it! Y'all are a very creative bunch of individuals! I learn a lot seeing how you lay it down...τΏτ- Deconstruction junction...what's your...Okay! I'll hush up. :o Thanks again for hosting such a very informative place for us to meet like this. This contest has certainly had a big influence on my paint work...as before, it only had to be good enough to get wasted on the nearest curb..now, on the other hand... :D
Thanks again,
